TPSF | DAY ONE OF NON-TARRIF BARRIERS CAPACITY BUILDING

The Tanzania Private Sector Federation (TPSF), in collaboration with Trademark Africa and the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MIT), is conducting a two-day Capacity-Building Workshop on the Elimination of Non-Tariff Barriers (NTBs) and Rules of Origin at Four Points Hotel, Dar es Salaam.

Day One focused on understanding international trade and market access, with discussions covering regional markets under the EAC, AfCFTA and SADC, as well as non-reciprocal market arrangements and multilateral trade.

Participants also explored market requirements and procedures, including tariffs, Rules of Origin, information systems and trade platforms, Non-Tariff Measures (NTMs), Sanitary and Phytosanitary (SPS) Measures and Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT).

The sessions further provided an opportunity for participants to discuss and share experiences on challenges affecting access to Regional and International markets, with emphasis on identifying practical ways to address NTBs and strengthen private-sector competitiveness.
